Manfred first finds himself in ancient Greece as one of the most famous heroes of all, Hercules! There were more myths told about Hercules than any other Greek hero. Several of the stories about Hercules involve the 12 labors he was assigned by the gods. Luckily, Manfred only has to perform a couple of them. How will Manfred fair against the invulnerable Nemean Lion and the many-headed Lernaen Hydra?
One of the most popular heroes in medieval England was Robin Hood. His practice of robbing from the rich and giving to the poor made him a hero of the common man, standing up to oppression. According to the stories, he was also a highly skilled archer. But Manfred's not. He's not entirely sure where the arrow goes. That may prove to be a problem when he decides to go up against the villainous Sheriff of Nottingham.
American folk lore is full of heroes that are larger than life. Some were actually larger than normal people, while others had abilities greater than a normal person. One of the heroes with almost super human skills was Pecos Bill. Pecos Bill was the perfect personification of the cowboy, able to out ride, out rope, out shoot, and out do anyone else. Manfred doesn't quite posses that level of skill, however. In fact, he's afraid of most of the things a cowboy would encounter everyday like snakes, horses, and even cows.
